If you have a Gmail account (and if you don’t, you can sign up – it’s free) you can create your own cloud based document repository with Google Docs.  Google Docs offers you 1024 MB of free internet based document storage.  Document types include common formats such as PDF, JPEG, Word and Excel.  However, if you convert your documents to the Google Docs format, they won’t count against your free GB of storage space.

Would adopting cloud computing be right for your business? Let’s find out.

The power of this cloud solution is that as long as you can get on the internet, you can access your documents, from anywhere in the world.  This includes PCs, laptops, tablets and smart phones.  Yet, here at Advance – The Document Specialists, we offer another way to access your Google Docs account.  With Canon’s Cloud Portal, offered on their imageRUNNER ADVANCE MFPs, you can log into your Google Docs account right from the touch screen, select a file, and print it.  You can even scan a document directly into your Google Docs account, for future access.  It is a great solution for mobile workers traveling between offices.  Give us a call if you would like this feature setup on your Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE MFP, and if you don’t have one of those yet, we can help you with that too!
